15m Nationals

The DuckHawk is on its way to the 15m nationals in Pennsylvania, and will be piloted by Chip Garner. The competition will be held May13-22. Swing by to see the only American made glider competing.

Last weekend OLC champion and veteran pilot Jim Payne flew the plane in multiple configurations in Minden, NV. Jim was thrilled with the handling qualities, and is looking forward to future flights in the wave.

SSA Convention

The Windward crew is down in Reno this weekend for the Soaring Society of America’s annual convention. The Perlan mock up along with a prototype DuckHawk are on display.

Perlan Wing Skins

All 84 feet of the Perlan’s wing skins have been completed. Head over to the SSA convention in Reno, NV this week to see the wing tips on display.

Perlan molds are being prepared for the wing skins to be laid up. Stay tuned for the final product.

As the flutter analysis comes to a closure the tooling for the 84 foot spars begins. Work is also being completed to closeout a test article fuselage which will undergo both structural and pressure tests.
